Landon School will host the 15th annual Mark's Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Sunday, May 1, 2016, to benefit the Landon Scholarship Fund and Joslin Diabetes Center.

Mark's Run is held in honor of Mark Ferris (Landon '94), who lost his lifelong struggle with heart disease complicated by type 1 diabetes at the young age of 25. Thank you to all of the participants, volunteers and sponsors who have helped to make the event such a success for the last 14 years.

If you have any questions, please contact Liza Tanner Boyd at or 301-320-1939. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the race!

On December 13, 1999, a lifelong struggle against heart disease and type 1 diabetes overtook Mark Ferris ’94. A beloved brother, son, classmate and friend, Mark’s strength in fighting diabetes taught those around him that life is not measured in years but in character. Mark’s character — of laughter, kindness, patience, and love — will be remembered always.

The Mark Ferris '94 Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 to provide a partial scholarship to a financially disadvantaged student at Landon School, an all boys educational institution for grades 3-12 in Bethesda, Maryland.  Mark's Run has raised $650,000 for the Mark Ferris '94 Memorial Scholarship Fund.
